If you are taking action under the RMA, it is essential to have access to a copy of the Act. The Act, which is regularly updated to include amendments, is available online at http://www.legislation.govt.nz/. Copies of the Act can also be purchased from the government bookshop, but these do not necessarily incorporate the amendments which need to be purchased separately. DSL Publishing and Brookers produce updated and annotated versions of the RMA. If you cannot afford to purchase one of these, they may be available in law libraries at universities and high courts and community law centres. The RMA has been written in a relatively user-friendly manner and avoids too much legalese.
