Regional Councils

How can regional councils help you?

Regional Councils can help you in a number of ways:

  • Providing advice and assistance on lodging applications for resource consents.
  • Providing advice and assistance on making submissions on resource consents, proposed regional policy statements, proposed regional plans and plan changes.
  • Providing access to files containing information on resource consents which have been applied for and/or granted.
  • Providing access to technical reports and environmental information for the region

If you are interested in a particular site or issue, telephone the regional council in advance to make an appointment to meet with a staff member and view the relevant file. Regional councils also often have material available on their websites and libraries where you can research environmental information.
