Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment

The Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment (PCE) acts both as a guardian of environmental management systems and as an environmental watchdog investigating people's concerns. The Commissioner is an officer of Parliament, independent of the government of the day. The Commissioner's office is based in Wellington, has 17 staff and operates with a budget of around $2.7 million.

What costs are involved?

There is no charge for lodging concerns. All of the PCE's individual reports are available free, either by downloading in PDF format from the PCE website or requesting hard copies from the Commissioner.
