Ministry for the Environment

The Ministry for the Environment (MfE) provides policy advice, works with other agencies and stakeholders to improve environmental outcomes, and compiles and disseminates information on a wide range of environmental matters. It has about 300 staff and an annual budget of around $68 million. The Ministry has a Wellington-based head office and other offices located in Auckland and Christchurch.
