Applying For a Plan Change

Where you are unhappy about the provisions of a regional or district plan you can apply for a plan change. If you consider that a regional plan should be prepared to deal with specific issues you can apply for a plan to be prepared. Where you wish to apply for a plan change to establish an aquaculture management area in a regional coastal plan, you can only do so if the regional council has issued a public notice inviting such a plan change request (section 165Z). This is often referred to as the invited private plan change procedure.
